This program began in 1999 with a PLEA to the public to donate musical instruments to our Association. The purpose of the program was to make available to low income families, instruments for children who wished to be in band, but could not afford the cost of owning or renting an instrument. Our pleas were answered by the public and some forty instruments were donated. With the assistance of Eckroth music and our involvement with area schools, the program in the first year (1999) provided twenty-five students in low income families the opportunity to participate in band through the Links Program, formally know as, Second-Time-A-Sound at NO cost to the child or family. As the program continues today, we are in need of more instruments to fill requests we receive.
