Do you have an old or interesting tractor? Are you looking for a place to display it and meet with other people who have the same interests? Buggies-N-Blues is looking for you! The featured exhibit again this year during the Buggies-N-Blues event will be antique tractors. Old tractors are a wonderful example of our farming history, and many have been sold as scrap metal and destroyed forever. Some of them are rotting away in weeds and tree rows. It is so important to keep and restore these reminders of how things were done in the first half of the last century. It is wonderful that Buggies-N-Blues is again giving recognition to those individuals who realize the value of restoring these tractors and keeping them in our lives. Along with the usual John Deere, Oliver, Massey Harris, Massey Ferguson, Minneapolis Moline, Case, etc., it would be great to see some lesser known brands. If you or someone you know has such a machine and would like to show it, please let us know. The more unusual, the better. They do not need to be restored or in pristine condition to be included. Tractor clubs are welcome, but you don’t need to be in a club to display a tractor. The staging area again this year will be in the parking lot on the east side of the old John Iverson building. If it is available, we will again be using the old Mandan Supply lot on the east end of Main Street to unload and load tractors and to park your trailers. Other arrangements will be made if that cannot be used during the Buggies-N-Blues weekend. No times have been set for the unloading of tractors on Saturday night or Sunday morning, and information will be sent out as soon as it is available. Tractors are also invited to drive in the “Parade of Classics” on Saturday night. Vehicles will meet at the Community Center at 7:30 PM, on Saturday, June 12th to line up for the parade downtown. If you would like to include a display or photos of how your tractor was found and restored or any other display with your tractor/tractors you are welcome to do so. Bring the appropriate table or stands with you as none will be provided. There is no charge or registration for this event, but we ask that you contact the following numbers or websites and leave your phone number, web address, or physical address. A contact number or address is necessary to keep all participants informed of any changes. Call Perry Schlosser at (701) 220-0467 or (701) 667-5546, or email him at schlosser55@hotmail.com. There will also be information on the Mandan Progress Organization website, www.buggies-n-blues.org. Please pass along this information to anyone who may not have access to the websites.
